EQ Solicitors opened for business in July 2005. Managed by founding partner Justin Evans, its emphasis is on providing expert legal advice and reliable customer service.
We have five members of the team who undertake legal work. Regardless of who works on your matter, they will be supervised by Justin Evans.
Justin Evans - Partner
Justin studied law at the University Of Wales Aberystwyth from 1989 to 1992. He then sat his Law Society final examinations at Chester College of Law before beginning a training contract in September 1993. He qualified as a solicitor in October 1995.
Justin specialises in representing public bodies, commercial and individual clients in relation to a variety of legal matters. He is an experienced advocate in both civil and criminal cases and has represented clients in the High Court and Court of Appeal. In addition to this he is a Legal Services Independent Review Commissioner (Special Controls Panel Member since 2008) and a Court Duty Solicitor since 1996. Justin is a Solicitor Advocate approved by the Law Society to appear in all Higher Courts throughout England and Wales and regularly appears as such.
Justin is married with two daughters. In his spare time he is a WRU rugby referee and enjoys watching cricket and football.
Jessica Bray - Assistant Solicitor
Jessica studied Law at Swansea University from 2012 to 2015. She then studied the Legal Practice Course at Cardiff University from 2015 to 2016 whilst working part time at EQ Solicitors. Jessica secured a full time paralegal position at EQ Solicitors in 2016. She became a Trainee Solicitor in January 2017 and qualified in November 2018.
Jessica advises on a wide range of legal matters, from buying a house, to representing clients at court within family and civil disputes. Jessica also attends the police station as a Police Station Representative to represent suspects.
Carly Jones - Conveyancing Executive
Carly started working at EQ in 2007 as a Legal Secretary/Receptionist whilst studying for the Ilex Diploma in Law Level 3 at Ystrad Mynach College.
She has recently started a new role as a Paralegal, covering areas of Conveyancing, Probate and Wills.
Saira Iqbal - Trainee Solicitor
Saira studied LLB Law at Cardiff University from 2012 to 2016. She then completed 9 months paralegal employment at a firm in Cardiff in the Trust and Estates Administration department. Upon completing her Legal Practice Course full time at Cardiff University from 2017 to 2018, Saira successfully secured a training contract at EQ solicitors in July 2018 to become a Trainee Solicitor.
Saira has experience in administering estates from start to finish, applying for grants of probate, reading and preparing wills, requesting details from all assets and liability holders to determine the value of the estate, preparing estate accounts, dealing with Inheritance Tax, locating beneficiaries and arranging interim and final distributions.
Rhiannon Davies - Trainee Solicitor
Rhiannon studied law at the University of South Wales from 2015 to 2018, whilst simultaneously studying her Legal Practice Course. Rhiannon secured a training contract post-graduation with EQ Solicitors and became a Trainee Solicitor in July 2018.
